Au Pairs are young people from all over the world who join American host families, providing up to 45 hours of loving childcare per week, while sharing new cultures and languages. Au Pairs live as members of their host families, embracing their role as someone the parents can depend on.
Hosting an Au Pair is a rewarding and enriching cultural experience for the entire family. You and your children will have the opportunity to embrace another culture right in your own home. Your family's view of the world will expand through you and your Au Pair sharing each other's language, culture and customs.
CHI’s Au Pairs undergo a thorough screening process, including personal interviews, previous childcare experience evaluation, psychometric testing, criminal background checks and confirmed character reference checks. CHI's Au Pairs love children and are excited to share their cultural heritage with their host family and to become a part of the daily family life.
I adore Shani. She is hard working, respectful, wonderful with the kids and an absolute pleasure to have as part of our family. The only negative thing I have to say is that she will have to leave us one day! I have had several babysitters in the past and this is the first time I have had an au pair. It is by far the best experience I have had with childcare.
Cindy has become such a blessing to our family. She has started teaching us French and we plan to take the family to visit her in Belgium. What an incredible exchange this year has been and will be for our family!
We welcomed Bianca as a member of our family from the beginning and she remains that way. We absolutely love her. She is able to take care of the children in a loving and respectful way. Our children have fun with her and we trust her 100% with the care and wellbeing of all four of our children.
We really saw the level of help and individual care that is provided. The staff keeps in constant contact and kept us informed of each step. I think that’s one of the things CHI Au Pair does best. The communication is always amazing, and that’s one of the most important factors to us, and a testament to the organization of the program and the diligence and care of the individual people.
We are really happy with our au pair. I really actually have a hard time, and for the most part do not refer to her as our au pair.. She is like a 19 year old daughter – Luise is industrious, kind, mature for her young life, just strict enough, just lenient enough – I would say she is the perfect addition to our family.
For over 36 years, CHI has been developing international cultural exchange programs. CHI's mission is that businesses, hosting families and young Americans share and exchange their values, their love and their freedom with young people from all of over the world. We believe this to be the best way to promote trust and understanding among nations and to build a more prosperous, peaceful world.
