Dear Host Family,

My name is Debbie Willis and I live in California. I am a senior at the University of San Francisco. I am so excited to meet you! My grandparents were originally from Madrid and I have often dreamt of someday returning to the country of their birth. I am so grateful to have this opportunity!

I am currently studying Spanish and as I study I imagine what my host family will be like. I study harder knowing that I will soon be using everything I know to communicate with you. I want to be a wonderful tutor to you and your children and I sincerely hope to become a member of your family.

I have not formally tutored anyone, but this program seems to be about just conversing with each other and I know I converse very well! :) I come from a big family and we really enjoy each other. I am looking forward to expanding my family to include yours.

My hobbies are biking, reading, and shopping. I am very interested in learning about other countries and cultures. I am sure you will teach me many things as I help you with your English.
