Program Description:

We are offering semester and year long paid teaching positions in China.  The salary in China is approximately $400 - $500 USD per month.  Participants will teach high school students conversational English for 15-20 hours per week.  Private apartment, insurance and airfare all included in one year placement.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree

• Native English speaker

• No second language required

• Teaching experience preferred but not required

Program Dates:

• Year: August 25^th to July 1^st
   

• Semester: February 15^th  to July 1^st

Location:

Chongqing, China:  Chongqing is a modern city with an ancient history.  It has a population of over 30 million.  Transportation is accessible from Chongqing by train, bus or taxi.  There are direct trains from Chongqing to Shanghai, Xi'an, Guiyang, Nanning, Chengdu, Zhengzhou, Guangzhou, Kunming and Beijing.

Cost:

• Year: $1,475.00
   

• Semester: $1,075.00

* A $75.00 non-refundable deposit must be included in the Application Packet. The price of the program includes this $75.00 deposit.

Includes:

• Airfare - Roundtrip airfare for a year long placement, one way airfare for a semester placement
   

• Placement - At a language school in Chongqing China
   

• Housing - Private room in a shared apartment
   

• Salary - Monthly stipend of $400-$500 USD
   

• Materials - CHI will provide you with an Oxford Picture Dictionary teacher's book for lesson plan ideas.  The school will also provide additional materials.
   

• Support - Local and U.S. support as well as a Personal Representative
   

• Insurance - Medical insurance
