Career Exploration Programs Abroad
CHI offers students and adults the opportunity to further their own career by
volunteering their services to a business in another country while living with a host family. Examples of careers are
listed below. Others may be available upon request.

Prices include: Host family placement, business placement, insurance, orientation and materials, and
a local coordinator. Airfare can be arranged either by CHI or on your own, but will be in addition to these
prices.
AU PAIR - CHI's Au Pair program provides an opportunity for women between the ages of 18 and 25 to spend 6 to
12 months in Germany, Spain, Finland, Italy, or Switzerland while being a live-in babysitter and doing light
housekeeping for a family. The average time spent working is 30 hours per week, and the average pocket money equals
$65 per week. Language classes are encouraged, except in France, where they are required and are at a cost which is
deducted from the pocket money. France requires 4 years of French study, Spain requires 2 years of Spanish study.
