Financing Your Adventure

Partial Scholarships - available for students 18 years & under

CHI annually offers partial scholarships to students 18 years and under who have already applied for a CHI outbound homestay program and have received acceptance. The scholarships are funded by donations received from Host Families who have hosted a foreign student through our Inbound Program or from contributions from outside sources. Since the monies come primarily from Host Families one scholarship of $500 is set aside for a Host Family student to receive. That and the remaining scholarships available will be given on the basis on an essay written by the student. Only one scholarship is awarded per person.

To enter the student will write a two page, double spaced, essay entitled "Why I would make a good American youth ambassador"; obtain a letter of recommendation from someone not a family member; have a smiling, close-up photo; complete a short application form.

Deadline for submission
Entries must be received in our office by April 1st. If your entry is received later it will not qualify.

Eligibility - Students
- Must be 18 years or younger
- Have already completed a program's application process, including submitting a full application
- Paid the program's required deposit
- Received acceptance as a participant in the program from C.H.I.

We do accept payment by either Visa or Mastercard.

Note: Program fees are paid in full before departure. Payment plans are available and will be discussed upon acceptance into a program.
