If you are an American looking for a more profound and intimate experience of another country than you receive from
the window of a tour bus, there is no better way than to stay with a host family. Hosting families in all CHI
destinations introduce you to an accurate and personal view of their home land, their country's highlights, the hidden
places in their communities, and the most treasured values of their fellow countrymen. Lasting friendships continue
over the years, enriching the lives of all in countless ways, and expanding the learning begun even with a short visit.
The fact that host families offer room and board also guarantees the visitor very reasonable travel costs. This is why
CHI prides itself on being a HOMESTAY organization, offering its participants far more than a basic tour.

CHI Support and Staff
All CHI staff is experienced and highly professional. In addition to years of administrative background, every one has
hosted foreign students, traveled extensively, and worked with young people as counselors and coordinators. They know
the value of a homestay experience in their own lives and are sincerely concerned that everyone participating in this
type of program have the same enriching opportunity.
CHI Gives You Choices
CHI has a variety of programs available. We have families to greet you all over the world. If you want to study abroad,
we have high schools and communities waiting in the countries of your choice. If you are an adult, we provide exciting
opportunities to travel with people of your age and with similar interests. CHI is flexible in accomodating a variety
of choices in all aspects of your travel.
CHI's Structure
CHI employs a full-time staff of 55 and a part-time staff of 720 people in 28 offices. Over the years more than 100,000
host families have participated in our programs. These generous people have supported us in additional ways;
contributing to the CHI Scholarship Fund, becoming coordinators in our programs, and returning year after year to host
students from different countries and for longer periods of time.
