Greetings from Contra Costa and Alameda Counties, encompassing the area of Berkeley, California to east to discovery Bay and south to Pleasanton/Livermore, California.
My name is Julie Parrish, Area Program Administrator. I have lived in the Bay Area all my life and love my community. Contra Costa/Alameda is a new region for CHI and I am excited to be the one to create the Contra Costa/Alameda region.
New to the Contra Costa and Alameda Counties is our GROUP HOMESTAY PROGRAM. Our GHS has been welcoming foreign students from Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Russia, and Italy for over 18 years.
We also have our Academic Year Program which welcomes foreign students during the school year. Students are here 5-10 months.
During our Group Homestay and Academic Year Programs, we ask that our students volunteer for COMMUNITY SERVICE projects.
