Become a CHI Host Family

Become a CHI Host Family If you have ever wondered how the Japanese, Brazilians, or Russians educate their children, how they make their food, or what family life is like for them, hosting an overseas student can answer these and many other questions. Having the unique opportunity to learn about people from other countries is what Cultural Homestay International is all about.
CHI host families are at the core of CHI programs. By volunteering to open their homes and hearts to the world's young people, they are giving them an uncommon gift: an offer of friendship, an opportunity to experience the American way of life, and a genuine interest in learning about their students' cultures and customs.

CHI host families are special people of extraordinary goodwill and a generosity of spirit. They enjoy teenagers and are willing to treat their student as a member of the family. Hosting a CHI student can be a rewarding experience for the whole family. You can choose how long your student spends with you and the country they're from.

We currently welcome students from over 40 different countries: Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Russia, Scotland, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, United States and Yugoslavia.

For more information, have one of our local coordinators contact you by filling out the CHI information request form.
