H-2B Participants - Signing Up, Step by Step Process
When you decide to file with CHI and be on a petition, it is imperative that we receive ALL of your current documents in
completion. This will make you current in our system and it will decrease the amount of follow up we'll have to do later on so
that you do not hold up the petition for other participants. If we are missing something from
any participant, it could delay the petition's approval, cause you to be dropped from the petition, or cause the petition to
be denied completely.
Documents:
- Your stamped I-94 is a document that you received when you first entered the
country. It has not only your I-94 number along with your name and birth date, but also a blue stamp with your
arrival date on it.
- Along with your current I-94 (if this is your first extension your current I-94
will be the same as your stamped I-94), we need copies of your previous extensions as
well to verify you have been in legal status throughout your stay in the U.S.. You also need a
passport that will not expire before the end of the designated contract.
- We may ask for several pay stubs, from the employer listed on your most current
I-94, as the pay stubs have to be dated within 2 weeks of filing. Please be patient with our requests and prompt when sending
in your current pay stubs as it will help to expedite the filing process.
- Having an updated resume will help us find you positions that you are qualified
to work in, and alert you when we have new job openings that you may be interested in. A professional and complete resume
will increase your opportunities with any employer both in the U.S. and your home country.
