CHI's host families are uniquelly generous people who enjoy learning about other
cultures and appreciate the wonderful opportunity hosting gives to their family life.
It is not unusual for families to include the student on trips to the supermarket, to the square dance, or to their
church. Many have long conversations with their students about education, politics, food, dating practices, philosophy,
and lifestyles. Host family children enjoy playing with their student as an "adopted" brother or sister.

The host families are responsible for the student's room and board. They are also responsible, in cooperation with the
Teacher Coordinator, for the student's transportation to and from the Study Center where the classes are held. (Car
pooling and a variety of other contributions to CHI are tax deductible).
