Who is CHI?
Cultural Homestay International (CHI) is a non-profit organization founded in 1980 to promote international
understanding, friendship and goodwill. CHI is a designated Exchange Visitor Program sponsor through the U.S.
Department of State. This designation allows CHI to issue Form DS 29019 to qualified Camp Leader program participants
in order to apply for the J-1 camp counselor visa. As a J-1 visa sponsor, CHI ensures that all Exchange Visitor
program regulations are met and all Camp Leader program participants enter the U.S. legally.
